Lifting Safety
Congratulations to Laura Bianchi, last month's winner.
Why This Matters
Back and elbow strains are preventable when loads are handled with proper technique, the right equipment, and help from another person when needed.
Back and Elbow Strains Happen When
- Lifting improperly.
- Trying to be the hero.
- Not asking for assistance.
Safe Lifting Practices
- Lift with your knees, not your back.
- Keep loads close to your body.
- Use hand carts or pallet jacks.
- Use a waist or lumbar support belt if needed.
- Ask for help. It is strength, not weakness.
Culture Reminder
Ego has no place in safety. Especially for younger technicians, asking for help is professionalism.
Action Step
If it feels heavy, stop and get help.
