Pierce has raised the bar once again concerning the cab integrity. Cab strength and protection for the occupants are critical. Velocity® and Impel® cab integrity surpasses ECE 29, SAE J2420, and SAE J2422 crash safety standards. In fact, the roof held 4.5 times the ECE requirement: 100,000 lbs! The same cab held the same weight on its side as well (not a required test). In dynamic tests, the cab also survived impacts with twice the energy required by ECE 29.
